Undenatured Whey

If you’re here, you probably already understand that glutathione (GSH) is essential to your health. And you might already know the best way to get it: undenatured whey!

Briefly, glutathione is a small protein found in the cells of your body. It is responsible for cleaning up pollutants and harmful free radicals. Without GSH you would die! Dr. James Guttman, a doctor devoted to the research benefits of GSH states that “apart from water, glutathione is the most important molecule in your body!” The benefits of boosted GSH levels are numerous and can include: increased energy levels, increased mental clarity, fewer colds and bouts of illness, elimination of allergies, and the overall ‘enabling’ of a productive and well system, instead of a body ‘just getting by.’

You don’t need to limit your health! Aim high. Be the healthiest you can be. You don’t need to be tired, foggy, achy or depressed. You can be alert, supple, strong, and emotionally well!

How do I get GSH?

GSH is not something you can ingest. It is manufactured by your own cells. You need to give your body what it needs to create GSH.

If my body already manufactures GSH, why do I need to do anything extra?

GSH levels are depleted over time due to a number of factors: aging,
Aging word cloud stress, disease, pollutants, toxins. There are simply too many assaults on the cells of our body, and to deal with them effectively GSH levels need recharging.

So how do I boost my levels of GSH?

Eat and supplement with the right things and your cellular GSH levels will increase, thereby improving your health.

What’s the best source of GSH?

Any source of useable CYSTEINE can promote GSH production. Foods that are high in cysteine include raw milk, breast milk, broccoli, raw eggs, raw beef, and undenatured whey protein. Broccoli might seem like a good GSH option, but you would need to consume unreasonable amounts in order to get any significant GSH boost. Raw eggs and beef pose a health risk, and are generally unappetizing, and most states don’t have unpasteurized milk (only legal in California, Arizona and Washington).

This leaves undenatured whey (made up of the solids left over from milk production), hands down the best source, containing an abundance of cysteine rich proteins.

What about cysteine and NAC pills?

Pure cysteine is not useable by the body as it is broken down during digestion and is, in fact, toxic. The same goes for NAC, a modified form of cysteine that the body can actively use to boost GSH but which quickly becomes toxic. NAC’s main function is in the emergency room to deal with drug overdoses where the benefits out weigh the risks.

Are all whey proteins created equal?

No way…pardon the pun. Most whey sold in health stores is used as a meal replacement or to help build muscle–basically a protein source. Meal replacement and muscle building has its place. But in this case, we’re talking about something far more important. We’re talking about boosting the immune system for disease prevention and long term optimal health. The average whey powder is heated up in a process called pasteurization, which is used to kill off the bacteria in the food. But what also happens during the pasteurization process is the denaturing or damaging of proteins (i.e. the amino acid cysteine is modified and becomes useless to the body in GSH production).

What should I look for when buying a whey protein?

When buying a whey protein to boost GSH levels, you want to look for an undenatured whey protein. We recommend the whey protein offered by Immunotec, an excellent company formed on happenstance! A researcher named Dr. Gustavo Bounous came across some startling proteins which piqued his interest. After 25 years of probing, collaboration and a myriad of patents, a company was formed! Other companies may claim to have what Immunotec has, but in this area of undenatured whey protein, Immunotec IS the backbone of the research!
