10 Minute Health Habits
Even if you only have 10 minutes, there are plenty of things you can for your health. Health doesn’t have to be a chore. In fact, doing things to enable your health can be pleasurable, even fun. Check out these health tips and see if any of them resonate with you. Is there one in particular you could see yourself doing? Start there. Do it today. Repeat tomorrow!
1. Meditate for 10 minutes. Release your worries and focus on what matters.
2. Start your day with lemon—a shot of fresh squeezed lemon (we literally use a shot glass!) or fresh squeezed lemon and hot water. Lemon activates your digestive system and helps the kidneys clear out toxins.
3. Get rid of psychic clutter. Write things down and complete your tasks. Carry the list around. Employ the principles of Getting Things Done, by David Allen.
4. Take 5-10 minutes in the sun and recharge your Vitamin D.
5. Take a short nap. Recharge your mind!
6. Take a few moments to breathe deeply. Notice your breath. Release tension. It might be your first full breath of the day, the month even!
7. Take a supplement. The simple act of engaging in a discipline for your health is beneficial. The merits spill over into the rest of your life.

8. Laugh for 10 minutes a day–laughter is truly your best medicine, and its positive effects on health have been well documented. Keep a ‘laugh’ file. If resources appear slim, there’s always Robin Williams and Woody Allen!
9. Do something for yourself every day. Listen to an inspiring song, go for a walk, read a book or magazine, play an instrument, light a candle, take a bath, sit on the sidewalk and watch a ladybug, imitate a child, enjoy good art!
Check out this photo documentary as a place to begin–great photography of cultural, social and ethnic groups ranging from the urban ghetto in LA to the Roma minority in Serbia.
10. Affirm a stranger and don’t expect anything in return. Just notice what happens to you when you give of yourself!
